Our new glaze palette came to fruition through exploring the bright colors of the 90s. After launching the satin pastel collection we felt it would be a refreshing change to brighten everything up. We did hundreds of tests to find the right colors in a number of base glazes. After we set our palette we added zinc to the glaze to grow floating zinc silicate crystals in the glassy glaze.
These limited edition collaborations between The Bright Angle and Adrienne Eliades will be available February 24 in our web shop! They are now listed on our website to preview. In the meantime, we wanted to tell you a little more about this collection.
Collaboration is an important part of the work we do at The Bright Angle. We believe that by working together we can achieve more. In the summer of 2017 we approached former Asheville letterpress company 7 Ton Press about printing custom stationery for us. 7 Ton Press was also the graphic design team we used for our logo and initial branding. When designing the logo they added a small angle to accent the typography. We decided it would be great to have 7 Ton design a pattern using this accent angle.
Recently we had the chance to sit down and have a conversation with our current Resident Artist Adrienne Eliades. Adrienne comes to us from Portland, OR where she is a studio potter and teacher at Portland Community College. Adrienne specializes in layered and detailed ceramic surfaces. During her residency she has been collaborating with us on some really beautiful pots. Stay tuned to be in the know when they hit our web shop in a few weeks.
