Luminary Craft Event @ Wedge Foundation in Asheville NC

Luminary Craft Event @ Wedge Foundation in Asheville NC - The Bright Angle

The Bright Angle is pleased to invite friends, family, and community to join them at the Luminary Craft exhibition on Tuesday, August 27, 2019. Luminary Craft is a free-event showcase of pioneering craftsman and artists in the Asheville area. The Cloud Room of Wedge Foundation is the perfect location as it features artisanal furniture by local craftspeople that will be illuminated by The Bright Angle’s newly-released translucent porcelain lighting including a collaboration between founder/designer Nick Moen and Lexington Glass. Under the ambient lighting will be a curated group of national artists with strong ties to the Blue Ridge Mountains. Each artist deconstructs geometry and color through innovative craft processes and will select works that reflect their values, perspective, and quality craftsmanship.

Filling the room with music will be internationally renowned steel pan musician, Jonathan Scales. Combining his mathematical approach to rhythm and melody with the mastery of his instrument, Scales is guaranteed to provide an engaging performance.  Local videographers Matt Wegleitner and Micah Yaple will premiere their first video performance as Aerial Asheville.  Other artists featured include Daniel Garver (Drawings), Jamie Karolich (Collage), BJ Lumbaugh (Print), Aerial Asheville (Video) and Lexington Glass (Glass).

Join all the artist for a festive evening full of design and craftsmanship will showcase artists pushing the envelope of contemporary artistry and provide attendees with an experimental sensory experience in an intimate setting. Full details below:
